Captains Report

Captains welcome

Firstly I would like to thank all that turned up in their great numbers to celebrate with all the new captains and past captains.
Josh stone, a great golfer and true young gentleman as Junior captain.
Graham Ball, a reliable club at heart fella as village
captain.
Ray Whyman, a loveable and supporting drinking buddy as our Senior captain.
Adelaide Kirby, a beautiful and gentle women as our ladies captain.
And myself.
I may be the youngest captain but I assure you I will not be the weakest. I have the club at heart and will listen to all members in the hope to improving things.
Being captain is a privilege, an honour and in memory of my late father who introduced me to golf and this great club, a personal pride.
I am only as good as the people around me so without support I can't achieve what I have planned.
The last captains Brian and Evie done a fantastic term and I want to follow in there footsteps so please support.

Secondly we have a few members that need appreciating.
Dave Tilley who after 6 years has left his position as secretary so with patience both Dennise Coker and Paul Burton can fill such an important role.
We have a good team of committee members also.
Jim Lawrence
Debbie Juul and Adelaide Kirby
House- Len Turner.
Greens- Derek Thomas.
Match and handicap- Gary Brazier and Len Turner.
Social- Evie Simpson and Steve Carter.
Any concerns or matters arising please speak to one or all.
Lastly but most importantly this great club we all belong to has certain selling points.
The welcome.
The food.
The course.
With the new appointment of our new chef Patrick, I'm sure we will have food of the highest quality.
The course all year round is in great condition especially now with Derek Thomas helping Dave Willis and his team.
So a reminder about the way we conduct ourselves in front of fellow members, staff and guests, must be civilised and respectful so Mitcham Golf Club can be welcoming for everyone.
I shall continue with monthly reports after every committee meetings.
Happy golfing.
Peter
